Join the South Ave PTA for the Family Fun Night Trunk or Treat! Happening on October 25th from 6:30-8:00pm.
What is a Trunk or Treat? A Trunk or Treat is where families sign-up to decorate their cars and the kids go trick-or-treating to each car trunk. We are collecting candy to distribute to each car so you do not need to supply the treats if you are decorating a car.
Trunk Decorators: We only have 20 spots and the deadline to sign up is October 18th. You must be able to arrive to set-up by 5:45pm.
Costumes are encouraged! No toy (or real) weapons allowed.
5:45pm: Decorated trunks arrive and set-up 6:15-6:30: Families arrive 6:30-7:15 Trunk or Treating on the front loop of the school! (Until candy runs out) 6:30-7:30 Decorate pumpkins, visit our bake sale table and purchase spirit wear. 7:30-8:00 Finish up in the cafeteria and clean-up
Things to note:This is a school community event, you are invited to bring family members even if they go to different schools, but it is not open to the general public.
With the exception of food and spirit wear, everything is free and on a first come/first serve basis. The PTA is able to host these events for free with generous donations from local businesses.
We ask that each family donates a small bag of candy to be used at the event. Please send the candy to school by 10/22. You can also buy from our Amazon wishlist and have it shipped right to the school! Click here.
What: South Avenue’s art teacher, Mrs. Wurtz, is opening up her art room to us! She will be there to provide instruction on how to make tissue paper flowers and other creative things to decorate truck with. Bring any supplies you want to get rid of!
Can you donate 3 hours of time to South Avenue Elementary School this year? There are so many ways to contribute. All help in any amount makes a real impact on the students and you will really like doing it!
Why should you get involved? The South Ave PTA is a volunteer group that provides some of the school’s favorite activities (Color Run, Family Fun Nights, Book Fair, Holiday Shop…). Without a robust group of parent volunteers these events and our fundraising will suffer.
The money we raise is given back to our school to pay for playground equipment, assemblies, and teacher mini grants to improve classrooms, lessons and field trips. We are also currently working on a Master Plan for the playground and outdoor areas.
